Exploring Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is critical to success in higher education and beyond. After you finish this tutorial, you will be able to:

• participate fully in a scholarly conversation by engaging sources effectively and ethically
• avoid intentional and unintentional plagiarism in research and coursework
• articulate why academic integrity matters
• apply the basic principles of copyright law in order to use sources legally and ethically

Faculty, you have two options for having students engage with these academic integrity resources:

1. Students can self-guide through this UO LIbraries tutorial and take the final quiz for a certificate of completion (not graded)
2. You can integrate the related Canvas module along with the Academic Integrity Pledge (optional assignment)

Note: The UO Libraries tutorial in this guide has some overlap with the Ducks Have Integrity module in Canvas. We recommend discussing your learning goals with a librarian to decide which is right for you.
