Open Educational Resources

Software: None, although it helps to have access to a computer to search for open content during the workshop.
Duration: 60 minutes

Room description:

Often held in the Knight Library DREAM Lab workshop space.

Prerequisites:

No prior knowledge or experience with open educational resources is necessary. Faculty who are interested in reviewing existing open educational resources for use in their teaching are encouraged to attend.

Skills Taught / Learning Outcomes:
  • Define open educational resources (OER) and motivations for using them
  • Identify common repositories for finding OER and locate collections of OER relevant to academic discipline
  • Distinguish among the different OER permissions for adoption, attribution, and reuse
  • Evaluate OER and post a faculty peer review
