Printing, Scanning, and Copying at UO Libraries

Printing

Black and white printers are available in all UO Libraries locations, and color printing is available everywhere except the Math Library. These printers allow printing in 8.5x11, 8.5x14, and 11x17. You can print from UO computers or install drivers to allow printing from your personal devices.

Copying

The color printers are multi-function printers (MFPs) and can be used to make black and white or color photocopies as well.

Scanning

Photo of Bookeye scanning machineBook and flatbed scanners are available in the Knight Library, Design Library, Price Science Commons, and Law Library. These scanners offer color, grayscale, or black-and-white scans in formats including JPEG, PDF, and TIFF. After scanning is complete, you can save the files directly to a USB drive or send them as an e-mail attachment (25 MB email limit).

Costs

Patrons must have money in a Duck Bucks account to print, scan, or copy at the UO Libraries. Community patrons can purchase a Campus Cash Card for print/copy purposes.

Further Information

Connect to the UO Network from Off Campus

1. Library Proxy Service

Links on library webpages (including  in LibrarySearch, Browzine, and Databases A-Z) run through a proxy server which verifies you are a UO member, and are eligible to access library materials. When you click on a proxied link for the first time in the session, you are prompted to enter your DuckID and password to access the resource.

2. VPN (Virtual Private Network) Service

For certain library resources, using the UO's VPN service will be necessary.  VPN is not necessary for Canvas or LibrarySearch access.

If the proxied links or bookmarklet aren't working for you, the VPN lets you join the UO's network from off-campus. Using the VPN slows your internet speed, so only connect when you need to access resources, and disconnect once you're done.
