Call for Exhibition Proposals: Knight Library Tiny Galleries

Curator Agreement

Winners will be required to sign the following agreement:

Student Curator Award Agreement

By signing below, student curators agree to the following Tiny Phone Booth Gallery Award stipulations:

  1. Student curator is a currently enrolled UO student, indicating they are enrolled in classes this summer 2024 and/or will be enrolled in classes full-time this Fall 2024.
  2. The student curator will present a Tiny Gallery exhibition, [name of exhibition], in Knight Library Room [Room Number] from [start date] to [end date].
  3. The student curator will install the Tiny Gallery September 7-15, 2024.
  4. The student curator is expected to attend the Tiny Galleries Opening Event (exact date TBD) and provide a brief statement.
  5. The Tiny Gallery will remain on display until [End Date].
  6. UO Libraries will provide the selected student curators with a financial award of $1,500 upon their selection and execution of this agreement.
  7. The curator's installation will comply with all Tiny Gallery Restrictions, Suggestions, & Guidelines. Deviations will result in immediate action and possible cancellation of the exhibit and this agreement.
  8. Without prior approval, UO Libraries employees will not participate, but will monitor and oversee the installation of the Tiny Gallery to ensure compliance.
  9. The student curator is responsible for repairs to any and all damage due to non-compliance with the Tiny Gallery Restrictions, Suggestions, & Guidelines.
  10. The curator is responsible for all expenses related to the installation, maintenance, and removal of their exhibit.
  11. Any required technical support or reliable data/wifi connection, i.e., hotspot, will be the sole responsibility of the curator.
  12. The curator will supply the Tiny Galleries Implementation Team with a curator/artist statement on or before September 15, 2024, which will be posted near the exhibit. 
  13. To allow for interactive experiences, the curator determines whether their Tiny Galleries are locked or unlocked and when. In both cases, UO Libraries is not responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged materials. The curator elects to have this Tiny Gallery [Locked/Unlocked, timeframe].
  14. Only UO Libraries employees will have a key to the Tiny Gallery. Circulation of the key to the curator for limited amounts of time to manage their installation will be approved at the discretion of the Director of Access Services.

Financial Award Details

This is a one-time award of $1,500 contingent upon your completion of the curation responsibilities and will be applied to your UO student billing account. It may have financial aid or tax implications. If you have questions or concerns, please contact a financial aid advisor at 541-346-3221.

I confirm acceptance of this award agreement and terms.  I understand that failure to abide by these conditions may make me ineligible to receive award payment or may require repayment of already awarded funds.
