College of Arts and Sciences. School of Global Studies and Languages (GSL)

The School has an integrated curriculum that combines hands-on learning programs and new ways to study and apply languages, while incorporating social science education, cultural competency, and professional training to create a hub for global careers and language learning at the UO.

Yamada Language Center (YLC)

Yamada Language Center supports teaching and learning in the language and interdisciplinary humanities departments served at School of Global Studies and Languages: Romance LanguagesEast Asian Languages and LiteraturesGerman and ScandinavianRussian, East European and Eurasian StudiesArabic StudiesJudaic StudiesLinguisticsComparative Literature, the Language Teaching Specialization, and the American English Institute.

Mills International Center

The Mills Center houses many collections of travel guides, travel narratives, international cookbooks, dictionaries in various languages, maps and atlases, and international newspapers and magazines. The Mills Center puts on events such as Language Circles and Game Nights, as well as special events as the occasions arise.

 

Local Public Library Resources

Eugene Public Library

Eugene Public Library subscribes to MANGO Languages. an online language resource for learning over 70 languages, including Arabic, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Italian, Vietnamese, German, Russian, Swahili and many more. Includes English courses for non-English speakers. Users need library card in order to access MANGO Languages for self-study.
