Oculus Quest

The Oculus Quest is a fully portable headset that can be used without any other equipment besides a smartphone or tablet. We are unable to offer any purchased content, however, there are a number of free-to-play games you can download, many of which are listed in the Oculus Quest Free to Play Game Catalogue found under Documentation. Additionally, we must reset the headset after each use which makes set-up more complicated but also gives users the freedom to purchase their own games. Note that after resetting the headset all downloaded content will be removed, however, all of your purchased and previously installed content can be re-installed from your account which you can easily manage from the Oculus App. Because of its simplicity, the Oculus Quest is a great option for those who are interested in getting a taste of VR from the comfort of their own home. Additionally, you are not required to complete the safety quiz or schedule a training session in order to check out the oculus quest unless you intend to use it within the RAVE Lab or would simply prefer to be trained before use.

Oculus Link Cable

The Oculus Link Cable allows you to connect your Oculus Quest headset to any vr compatible pc. This lets you access additional games through steam and/or oculus that would usually only be compatible with the Oculus Rift headset. It is not recommended to go this route for first time use since you will be limited by cord length and will also have to install the Oculus software onto your computer in addition to installing the app on your smart device in order to connect the headset. To make this process easier you have the option to connect to our in-lab PC which already has the Oculus software downloaded. Download Oculus

We offer a photography kit for checkout that can be used both in and out of the library. If using within the RAVE lab you will need to complete the safety quiz and training session. Otherwise, there are no prerequisites to complete before completing the checkout procedure, details of which can be found under Access. The kit includes a portable lightbox, adjustable halo lights, a tripod with an iPhone mount, and two backdrops (black/white). The in-lab turntable is also fully compatible and enables 360 videos within the lightbox.
