Resources for Writing Program Notes

You can find biographies of individual jazz musicians by browsing in the ML410-ML420 call numbers in the Music Collection. 

  • ML410: Biographies of jazz musicians best known as composers or songwriters
  • ML419: Biographies of jazz musicians best known as instrumental performers
  • ML420: Biographies of jazz musicians best known as vocal performers

Examples of each are below-- there are many more on the shelves!

You can browse books in the MT145-MT146 section, arranged alphabetically by the composer, for analyses of their music. For example:
