As faculty that have been teaching about information literacy before "fake news" was a thing, your subject specialist librarian has experience in identifying resources, discussing the iterative process of research, and putting that information in context  and would love to work with you to share this information with students.You can request an instruction session or an embed a librarian in your course. You can help students by encouraging them to consult with librarians on research related issues.

Librarians create research guides for many subjects and can work with you to create specialized research guides for your course. Call on them to assist you in developing/finding learning tools and open educational resources.

Put material on courses reserves.

Help you win your quest to keep textbook costs down by using/creating Open Educational Resources (OERs)  

Find streaming video to imbed in your course or reserve media to show in class.
