Women in Music

A guide to library resources on women composers, conductors, and performers.

How to Use This Guide

The University of Oregon's Music Collection includes a special focus on music by women composers, and resources pertaining to women in musical life.

Use the menu bars on the left to find resources about women in music, including repertoire by women composers, scholarship about women musicians, feminist approaches to music scholarship, and studies of gender in music.  For example, click the "Articles" bar to see a list of journals and databases for finding articles about women musicians.

For a more general guide to music resources in the library, start with the main Music Research Guide.

If you want more specific research help or you have a question (simple or complex) please email me at ashaffer@uoregon.edu.  --Ann
