Finding Videos & Films: An Overview

The UO Libraries holds about 14,000 items in a variety of moving image formats (DVDs, videotapes, laserdiscs, 16mm film, and online streaming video) which cover all disciplines.

All videotapes and films owned by the UO Libraries can be located using LibrarySearch. This search tool offers the ability to limit your search to materials owned by UO, and to videos.

Looking only for videos you can find in the UO Libraries?

  • Select UO Libraries as your scope before clicking Search
  • DVDs and laserdiscs are located in the Knight Library Audio & Video Room (Douglass Room)
  • Videotapes are located at the Knight Library Checkout/Reserve Desk
  • 16mm films may be requested for pick up at the Knight Library Checkout/Reserve Desk
  • Online streaming video is located in various online databases (see menu to the left)
  • Some videos are located in branch libraries. LibrarySearch will list the location of each title.
