SBUS 453: Law & Sports Business

This guide is designed to help researchers outside the UO School of Law carry out basic basic legal research on sports business topics.

How to Use This Guide

This guide will help non-law students find law and legal analysis of sports business topics.  Accordingly, the guide does not reference resources available only to law students.

It is useful for researchers to understand that sports law is really a collection of traditional legal topics such as contracts, criminal law, anti-trust law, labor & employment law, and intellectual property.  Thus, including these sorts of terms with various terms relating to sport or athletes will often make your search for resources more effective.  The International Encyclopaedia for Sports Law includes a monograph on sports law in the USA that provides a good overview of legal topics relating to sports.
