Finding Portuguese Literature using LibrarySearch

Portuguese-language Literature is found in UO Libraries, mainly in the Knight Library, at PQ9000-9999 with general literature including literary criticism in PN1-6790. These numbers refer to a Library of Congress Call Number range. To learn more about finding books by call numbers, visit the "Buscar libros: How to read an LC Call Number" information in this guide. We also have a number of e-books containing or about Portuguese literature including literature from Portugal, Brazil, and Lusophone Africa, which may or may not have assigned call numbers in LibrarySearch. 

You can find print and e-books by searching using LCSH, or LC Subject Headings. To learn more about LCHS, visit the "Using LC Subject Headings to Search" and "About LCSH subdivisions" in this guide. Try using some of these LCSH in your searches:

Tip:  Use the Language filter in your search to also limit by language. You may also wish to limit to "Available Print at UO" and "UO eResources". Here's an example:

A subject search for the exact phrase, "Mozambican literature" as an LC subject heading with the following filters applied: Available Print at UO, eResources at UO, and Portuguese (language).
