Discuss the purposes of various scholarly identity management and social platforms including ORCiD, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate
Create and populate their own ORCiD account
Create a Google Scholar profile and curate their publication record

Building your ORCID record & connecting your iD (instructions)

Google Scholar
Google Scholar Profiles provide a simple way for authors to showcase their academic publications. You can check who is citing your articles, graph citations over time, and compute several citation metrics. You can also make your profile public, so that it may appear in Google Scholar results when people search for your name.
Setting up Your Google Scholar Profile

Researcher ID on Publons (Web of Science)
Publons is the new environment where you can benefit from the improved Web of Science ResearcherID, add your publications, track your citations, and manage your Web of Science record.
Scopus Author Profiles
Researcher must have articles indexed in Scopus in order to claim their author records.
ResearchGate
Share your research, collaborate with peers, get in-depth stats on who's been reading your work, and keep track of your citations.
Academia.edu
Get notified when other academics mention you or cite your papers. Track your impact with in-depth analytics and network with members of your field.
