Historic Oregon Newspapers provides access to historic newspaper pages digitized under the NEH/LC National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP), as well as current newspapers with which we have agreements. This full-text searchable database contains over 900,000 pages from Oregon newspapers dated 1846 - 2017, and we are continually adding new titles. You can search Historic Oregon Newspapers to find:

  • information on persons, places, or events;
  • specific topics or news of the day;
  • concepts or ideas;
  • unique passages of text, such as the source of a frequently-quoted phrase.

This guide will help you use the different search and browsing functions of the website.
