You will be introduced to the following concepts and resources connected to recording technologies used for documentation

  • File formats format that come from recording devices
  • Permission forms and why they need to be used
  • Interviewer notes used as research before, during, and after an interview
  • Photographs of Narrators (Optional) being used for audio interviews
  • Transcripts being an important part of your oral history project
  • Team roles and responsibilities that help keep the project team on track
  • File and folder management best practices so your project components stay organized

Note: Every project is different so you may have different components to add, but the ones covered in this workshop are the foundations for doing an oral history project.
