Using HathiTrust

Faculty, students and staff and the University of Oregon with print disabilities have unique access to materials in HathiTrust. Individuals must be certified by the University of Oregon as having a print disability.

A designated Library Proxy will access the requested HathiTrust material on behalf of an eligible patron. To make a request email hathitrust@uoregon.edu.

1. Open HathiTrust in your web browser.
2. Select “LOG IN.”
3. In the “Select your institution” drop-down menu, select "University of Oregon".
4. When prompted, enter the DuckID and password. 
5. Arrive at “Search HathiTrust’s digital library” on the HathiTrust main page.
6. Enter your search terms in the Search input fields.
7. Select the “Search” button.
8. In Search Results, locate the item you wish to access.
9. Open Catalog Record of item
10. Copy URL and include in email request to hathitrust@uoregon.edu

The library proxy will contact the Accessible Education Center or the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity to verify eligibility. Once eligibility is established, the library proxy will process the request.
