Welcome or ɬaxayam (in Chinuk Wawa, the intertribal universal language of the Pacific Northwest)!

This research guide was set up to be a companion to UO course ES 399: Race, Indigeneity and Contemporary Art. The purpose of this guide is to provide researchers with information for researching topics by or about Indigenous and artists of color in settler colonial contexts.

Getting Started

This research guide provides resources, including print and electronic books, articles, databases, images, streaming media, and other resources, on topics related to art, art history, visual and material culture, and ethnic studies. 

 

Start by navigating resources in the side panels of the guide:

  • Finding readings and/or media for the course.
  • Researching in art and ethnic studies.
  • Finding books, articles, images, etc. in the library and beyond.
  • Getting tips for citing your sources and organizing your research.
