About Scholarly Metrics

Scholarly metrics are a quantitative way to measure the impact of a journal, article, or author (and alternative metrics tools are working on measuring similar impacts of other types of publications.) There are many ways to measure these impacts, and many ways to interpret them. This guide presents some tools, and links out to additional explanations of how scholarly metrics work, as well as their limitations.
