American English Institute

The American English Institute (AEI) offers a number of services related to English language training. Of particular interest to international students, AEI offers the Academic English for International Students (AEIS) program to help develop English skills.

Yamada Language Center

"The Yamada Language Center was founded in 1991 as a way of both centralizing and improving support for the 4000+ language teaching faculty and students at the University of Oregon."

The center offers a variety of resources to support language learning on campus, including facilities, self study programs, and the Virtual Language Lab.

The Mills International Center is located in the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) above the Duck Store. Our space is open to ALL students, faculty & guests; U.S. and international!

Language Circles meet regularly throughout the term for conversation in languages like German, Japanese, French, Spanish, English, Mandarin, Ichiskíin, Korean, and Arabic.

Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS)
The Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) at the University of Oregon supports innovative world language teaching and learning. We develop research-based curricula, professional development resources, and assessments to support infrastructure and innovation.
30-Day Language Challenge (CASLS)
Our 30-Day Language Challenge gives learners the chance to build fluency and proficiency by using the target language in their daily lives. The activities are perfect for online or hybrid contexts, as learners can complete the activities each day on their own. Learners who complete the challenge receive a limited edition enamel keychain custom printed with their completion badge.
