Law School Faculty Scholarship Resources

What is HeinOnline?

HeinOnline is an online database containing legal history, government documents, law-related periodicals, and law journals. This extensive collection makes it a great resource for accessing faculty produced scholarship and tracking individual and institutional metrics. In order to take full advantage of these features, faculty should edit their Heinonline Author profile page.

Editing your HeinOnline Author profile page

Most faculty already have a basic author profile page on HeinOnline. To enhance your profile page and add institutional affiliation:

  1. Go to the HeinOnline Author Portal.
  2. Scroll down to the Author Profile Setup Request form.
  3. Fill in the requested information. For University/Affilliation, insert "University of Oregon School of Law". For best tracking of metrics, make sure and enter your name variants. If you have an ORCiD, you will want to include it as well.
  4. Submit the form. You will be notified by HeinOnline support when your profile is set up.

View HeinOnline ScholarCheck metrics

ScholarCheck metrics show number of citations by cases, citations by articles, and number of times accessed. These metrics can be found on an author's profile page. Author level metrics can be found by clicking on an author's name in the search results page.

Author level metrics as well as institutional metrics can be found by selecting Law Journal Library. Then, next to Browse by, select Author Profiles. Next, select the institution of interest. From there, you can select metrics for the institution (includes only the authors listed below) or an individual author.
