Accessing Oregon Newspapers

If you're interested in browsing a particular newspaper or finding a specific article, this page will help you find various ways to access Oregon newspapers.

Recent print issues of the Eugene Register-Guard and The Oregonian can be found on the 2nd floor of the Knight Library. After about three months, the Library receives microfilm of these newspapers, which is kept in the Microforms unit on the 1st floor of Knight Library.

Microfilm copies of most Oregon newspapers are located in the Knight Library Microforms Department. Newspapers on microfilm are shelved by city and then by the title of the publication. Most are listed by title in the LibrarySearch.

Historic Oregon Newspapers provides digitized versions of selected Oregon newspapers published between 1846 and 2017. Approximately 200 newspapers are included in this collection. Dates of coverage vary from newspaper to newspaper.
