You can think of the research process as consisting of 5 steps. As the infographic above shows, while they are listed in an order, research itself is iterative instead of a straight line. These steps may show up in completely different combinations and orders, and you shouldn't feel discouraged if it seems like your research is going in circles because sometimes it just works like that.

The sub-pages in this section (which you can see in the left-hand column) go further into each of these steps, giving you resources and tips/things to think about as you work through the process.
