There are multiple sources for finding funding for research and projects.  Some cover the same sources (government agencies, foundations, etc.) but present the material in different formats.

Foundation Center offers two databases.  (Also provides access to 990's,  Philanthropy News Digest, newsletters, blogs for nonprofit agencies and IssueLab - free access to thousands of case studies, evaluations, white papers, and issue briefs.)

Foundation Database Professional:  Foundations and grants to organizations.

Grants to Individuals
