Archives West, a database published by the Orbis/Cascade Alliance, provides access to descriptions of primary sources in the western United States, including correspondence, diaries or photographs. Formerly known as Northwest Digital Archives. Includes archival records of institutions in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, and Utah.

This guide includes maps, county and office histories, scenic images and a comprehensive descriptive inventory of selected records for each of Oregon's 36 counties. The inventory listings describe records available at the State Archives, county offices, local museums and other repositories.

The City of Portland's archival records provide important historical evidence of the development of city government since 1851. Significant research subjects documented by the collection include, but are not limited to, urban planning, parks, land use, public works, economic development, public safety and social issues.

Over three hundred collections comprising over 18,000 cubic feet, some dating back to 1853, serve as a permanent source of information about activities, programs, and decisions of County agencies and elected officials.
