Key Psychology Databases and Setting Up Alerts

The databases below are the best databases for finding psychology peer reviewed articles.  Always use the databases through the UO Library web site.  Make sure you log in with your DuckID or use the campus network (VPN/Cisco).

Setting up Alerts in APA PsycNET, PubMed, or Google Scholar can help you keep current with your areas of interest. It also allows you access to some special features.

Getting the Most Out of Google Scholar

Most of Google Scholar citations don't include the full text of the articles.  You need the UO Library access to these full text articles in order to get the pdfs.  To link Google Scholar to the UO Library resources, you need to change your settings in Google Scholar.  The page below provide the directions for changing the settings.

Linking UO Libraries with Google Scholar to Find Full-Text Articles

When you search Google Scholar on your personal computer, you can configure your settings so that UO Libraries resource links appear in your results. Then you can click the UO FindText to access a library item.

(TIP: If you're at a temporary computer and don't want to activate these settings, you can access Google Scholar via our Databases page (Library Home Page > Databases A-Z > G > Google Scholar).
