Library Resources for Researching Property History

Research on Historic Property Use

There are many reasons a person may want to research the land use of a specific property.  They could be personal reasons, such as family history, or a more general reasons, such as documentation and preservation of a historic landscape or identifying previous land use that impacts the current environmental condition of the area.

While many resources are available on-line, there are some that are available in physical form only.  This guide is to assist you in locating some of the resources unique to the University of Oregon Libraries and point you to some other important resources.  It is not a comprehensive guide.  Doing property level research can involve a lot of footwork, both virtual and in person, to do a comprehensive job.
