Persistent Links for Library Resources

This guide describes how to create stable links to electronic articles, electronic journals, and databases licensed by the UO Libraries.

Using DOIs to create persistent links

Many journal publishers and databases provide a DOI - digital object idenifier - as a unique identifer for an article or document in a database.  DOIs can be used to create a persistent link to the item.

Publishers and databases providing DOIs for their content include American Chemical Society (ACS), Blackwell, Nature, Sage, ScienceDirect/Elsevier, SpringerLink, and Wiley.

Examples of DOIs:  DOI: 10.1021/es0708159 or doi:10.1038/nature03647

Note: Check carefully to be sure that the full text is available for the DOI.   The UO Libraries does not license all DOI content.

You will need add to the DOI to this string, https://uoregon.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://doi.org/

The proxied DOI persistent link will look like:

https://uoregon.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://doi.org/10.1038/nature03647
