Search Functionality

Search Functionality

  1. On the dashboard sidebar, under Configuration, click Search.

 

  1. Click the Options tab, Display search box is checked by default. Uncheck if you do not want a search box in the masthead.

 

  1. By default, “Everything” is checked. This allows users to search all digital objects in our exhibit. Embedded outside media (e.g. YouTube) will not be searchable.

Facets

Facets

In “Facets” you can adjust the exhibit-specific fields that have a controlled vocabulary as they appear in the sidebar to limit a user’s search.

  1. Click on the Facets tab.

  1. Click the three horizontal lines to reorder the fields according to how you want them to appear in the sidebar.
  2. Click on the text to rename the field.
  3. Click Options to select how you want search results sorted (Frequency or Value).

  1. Click the checkbox to make sure the facet is visible.

  1. Click Save Changes.

“Exhibit Tags” will appear as a facet once you’ve tagged images.

 

Results

Results

  1. Click the Results tab.
    1. Set what search results page types will come up (list, gallery, masonry, and slideshow).
    2. Set the default number of search results per page.
