When you find an item in the UO Libraries but do not have time to pick it up yourself you can request that we retrieve it for you and hold it at for you to pick up.
When you search for an item in the LibrarySearch catalog you will have the option to request the item be set aside for later pick-up. You can even request that a book that is currently checked out be returned for you to use.
To place requests you will need to log into the LibrarySearch catalog using your DuckID. You should be prompted to log in once you begin your search. On the LibrarySearch Sign In splash page click on the link that describes you to get your login prompt.
If you are not prompted to log in, click on the "Sign In" link on the upper right-hand corner of the LibrarySearch results page to log in.
To place your request click on the "Find in a library" tab beneath your item's description.
Once you have opened the "Find in a library" tab click the "Request UO Item" link. This option is only available if you have signed in.
Once you click on the "Request UO item" link you will be given several options. At this point you only need to select the location where you would like to pick up the item and then click on the "Request" button. You will receive an email when the item is ready for you to pick up.
