Finding Newspaper Resources

A guide to newspaper resources available through UO and online.

Finding U.S. & International Newspapers

If you're interested in browsing a particular newspaper, this page will help you find various ways to access U.S. and international newspapers.

Recent issues of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal can be found in the Quiet Study area (2nd floor) of the Knight Library.

Accessing U.S. & International Newspapers

  • New York Times
  • Wall Street Journal
  • Washington Post
  • Los Angeles Times
  • Register-Guard (Eugene, Oregon)
  • Statesman Journal (Salem, Oregon)

The Library also has traditional microfilm copies of select U.S. and international newspapers. You can check the Library catalog by title, check the inventory by city of newspapers on microfilm, or ask for assistance at the Microforms desk on the first floor of Knight Library. Newspapers on microfilm are shelved by city and then by the title of the publication. Listed below are the Library's traditional microfilm holdings of substantial runs of U.S. newspapers outside of Oregon, as well as some international newspapers:

  • Christian Science Monitor (Boston, MA), 1908-1980
