Getting Started with Research

A guide to help with the essentials of library research

Access to the Library's databases, e-journals, and e-books is easily available to current UO students, faculty and staff.

There are two access options:

Login to the Library Proxy Server

Login with your DuckID »

Use the library proxy server if you can't install the VPN sorftware or the VPN software doesn't work with your computer or network.
You will also see this option when you click on a database, e-journal or e-book, and a Login with your DuckID button appears.

Install Campus VPN Software

The campus VPN connects your computer to the campus network from anywhere you have internet access.
Install and log in with your DuckID.

Note: Sign into your LibrarySearch account if your VPN session will include searches for online articles, e-books, or other library-licensed materials. Search results are customized and access expanded based on your UO affiliation. By signing in, you will also be able to see items you have checked out or ready for pickup, and save items and searches to use in the future.
